Bisque Firing Day at the Rented Studio

Yup. ‘Nough said. Bringing in all my little porcelain pieces tonight after work to get them in the line-up for some nice dry firing in the kiln. Then, I can get moving on perhaps glazing them and doing the final kiln fire. I actually only got to making 10 tiny clay houses. I made about four medium sized ones and the other two sets (six house buildings all together) are much smaller. I would honestly love to sell these little cuties. I get to joke around that I’m building houses! Though, I have had the luxury of designing buildings in the past, and one of my various designs has been built in Hangzhou, China (but the way it all goes, credit goes to the actual, licensed architect of record). As it should be I suppose…

But! This will be the extent of my involvement with building buildings from now on ;) — I do love helping out in environmental consulting in the built environment though. There is always something you can do to make your life a little bit more habitat healthy. I am actually getting the chance to run this side of the business at work (Environmental Consulting). So, we’re going to be trying to do a lot of pro-bono work to start out with. Free things are good, am I right? Plus, I just love to chatter on about recycling, garbage reduction, faucet flow and saving water, and most passionate of all… [drum roll] I have a thing for foam-flush toilets folks. Honestly. Clivus Multrum should write me down as an employee for all the word of mouth advertising I give them! Mmm, toilets that don’t flush valuable gallons of water! Think-a-bout-it.

Happy Chinese New Year to all. It is up there with the few oldest calendar systems, right? If you celebrate Valentine’s Day, I hope you had a nice love fest. Chester and I celebrated (I suppose) with breakfast out with our friends and then some personal project development work. But, I think we’re secretly smart in holding off in buying chocolates for today! We’re really hoping there is some oh-darn-it’s-over sales at this chocolate shop in Harvard Square. Yeah, they’re pretty awesome chocolates if you’re in a chocolat-ee mood. Wouldn’t you just like to know the name of the place?
