Okay, so last night while attempting to watch House, Chester (my fiance) put on P.S. I Love You. He does this because he knows I’ll get sucked into ANYthing as long as it’s a moving picture! This is why I prefer watching one TV show, versus… a movie. The time suck-factor is vast when you compare show versus movie. Yeah. Well, of course I ended up watching the whole entire movie (again; I have this amazing ability to forget what happens in movies… or maybe I just enjoy watching the people act).
There was a scene in the movie where the female character is talking to her Irish man and she is quoting William Blake. I heard it again, as if hearing it for the first time with new ears!
“I must create a system or be enslaved by another mans; I will not reason and compare: my business is to create.” – William Blake
What a great choice of words. It was all I could do to stop myself from wagging my pointed, self-righteous finger back at Chester… okay, I did waggle my finger at him. My business is to create, indeed. So, perhaps I tangent then-and-again, switching between drawing, clay, and making fancy dresses. At least now-a-days I am consistently cooking or baking something new and tastey!
Actually, just last night, after the movie, I made for the first time a batch of fresh, homemade ricotta cheese! It was so quick and easy. Why didn’t I do it before? The plan for the ricotta cheese tonight is to put it on top of some pizza and/or make a cheese cake, make manicotti, or just eat it in all of its lonesome glory: sprinkled with herbs and olive oil.
So yes, I feel self-righteous and inspired by the words of William Blake. I cannot be alone in feeling and relating to his sentiment. I am happy to pass on his message if it may continue to inspire others.
