The growing village

This weekend I got to stop in to studio and drop off a few more houses I made, and I picked up a few more houses that had come out of the kiln! I just love how the speckled brown clay houses came out, they look delicious enough to eat like they are a graham cracker cookie! Chester has since started referring to my growing collection of clay houses as my “villages”… I don’t disagree with him. :)

I am hoping after my most recent batch of houses go in for a second firing, that the underglaze I painted on them darkens up a little more. I know that’s not typically desired, but I can’t shake the feeling I have painted the houses into looking like they were dipped in Easter egg dye! They are a bit pastel colored….
